My Dear Mother:-

There is not much to tell you of this time for Im still in hospital waiting to get away to my depot.

Today I mailed you the things Aunt Susan gave me. They are registered and as I have marked them as heirlooms there is as duty to pay on them. They should reach you about as soon as this. The other things Aunt Agnes gave me are dutiable so I am not sending them.

Today I went to a pantomime show Dick Whittington. However it was nothing out of the ordinary but merely mention it to give you an idea of how one spends his time.

There has been no mail from you this week yet but expect it tomorrow or Friday. It generally comes on Tuesday.

There has been a little bit of snow again but today it had quite disappeared.

Fred Sampson sent me a letter saying he didnt expect to be back until about the first of May. I hope I will not be that long for this is the only thing I look forward to now.

Will write again in a few days

With kindest love to you all

Your loving son

John
