Dearest Mother -
On the 13th, I received your letter of Jan. 6th with the enclosure from Gladys and also your letter of Jan. 13th with the Annual Report in it. I had heard about that storm in Ontario about a week before, as some of the fellows had received letters quicker than yours came thru. They must be having a rather bad time in some places from the cold and lack of fuel.
I also received three big bundles of Queen's Journals from Florence Wilson (Gladys will know her) - all the Journals for Oct., Nov. & Dec. I was glad to get them as they give lots of Queen's news in which I am interested. I also had a letter, mind you, from Irene Robertson. I was surprised to get it as she had only written one other time when I was in Witley. She addressed it to 50th Battery and it came thru alright.
We are having real good weather for the season of the year - a little cool at nights but bright and clear in the daytime. We have had no rain for some time. I am feeling real well. Am still at the guns and pretty busy but am getting along nicely. Best of love to yourself, to Gladys, Harold, Cecil & Arthur. Hope you and the rest are well and that weather at home has moderated.
Yours affectionately,
R.G. Brown-
