Dearest Mother -

More than another week has rolled by since last I wrote you but I have really little to tell this time. There has been no Canadian mail now for about two weeks and no one has received parcels from Canada for over a month. They must be holding the parcels somewhere for some reason or other. So, I have received no letter from you since I wrote last.

We had to see another general a week ago and now in about ten day's time, we are to see the flying corps officer. If he passes us satisfactorily, another ten days or two weeks should see us in England. So far we have got along fine with it. If we had been about a week later in making application in the first place, we would not have got it anywhere near so quickly, as they are shutting down on it so many applications are being made.

I don't know much about these money matters but I believe a good way to get money to me would be to get a traveller's cheque at the Bank of Commerce in Brockville and have it sent to be called for at the London Branch of that Bank. I could then call for and get it at London, or if I didn't get to London, it would eventually be sent back to you. I would like to have about a hundred dollars there where I could get it if I needed it. There is nothing coming to me in my paybook at all.

It has been great weather here for the past week or so and I have been alright in every way. Gladys, I suppose will only have to stick it another month. How is she getting along? I trust that you, Harold, Cecil and Arthur are all well.

Yours sincerely,
R.G. Brown
